Stall 854 is where we receive, stack and sell onions and peppers every working day, and where our suppliers' trucks unload. The Mercado de Abastos is one of Mexico's largest wholesale produce markets, and we have been trading since 1991.
Zapien e Hijos began in 1991 as a family farming and trading business, founded by José Zapién López. For years we grew onions and peppers ourselves; today we focus on wholesale trade at the Mercado de Abastos and keep our customers supplied with the best quality onions and peppers all year round.
We already sell US onions during the Mexican off-season, sourced through importers. We're now ready to buy direct from growers, packers and shippers: all onion varieties, with particular interest in white and red.
